The Northeast State Nursing program celebrates its 2018-19 class of graduates with the annual nurse pinning ceremony scheduled May 3 at the Regional Center for the Performing Arts on the College’s Blountville campus. The event begins at 6:00 p.m.
The program’s director and faculty members will recognize nursing student graduates with the Northeast State Nursing pin to place on his or her lapel to signify the beginning of a nursing career. Pinning celebrates the transition from the role of student to the role of nurse – a rite of passage into the nursing profession.
Pinning ceremonies are traditionally held for nursing classes at colleges and universities across the country. The pinning ceremony symbolizes the culmination a student’s professional nursing education. The nursing school pin distinguishes the graduates from all other health care professionals and paraprofessionals.
Nursing students graduating this spring will receive their diplomas on May 7 during the spring commencement ceremony at the East Tennessee State University Memorial Center in Johnson City. For additional information, contact 423.354.5108.
