Thank you and well done to the phenomenal students, staff, and faculty of Northeast State who contributed to the 2023 Because of You Campaign. The Northeast State Foundation sponsors the annual fundraising campaign to fund student scholarships at Northeast State. The campaign raised a total of $38,565 for 2023.
Fifteen college teams competed to raise the most money for BOYC this year. Winning first place was Team Bear Bucks with $9,179 raised. The Office of Inclusive Excellence took second place with $9,000 raised. The Northeast State Scholars Foundation/Alumni and Bookstore team brought in $6,142 to place third. The Honors Program and Alpha Iota Chi chapter of PTK placed fourth with $4,141 raised and the Kingsport Center for Higher Education took fifth with $2,130 raised for scholarships.
In the fiercely competitive and creative office Door Decor Contest, the Career and Workforce Development Services team won the Most Creative Award.
Accessibility Services won the Best Theme Award.
The Division of Behavioral and Social Sciences won the Best School Spirit Award.
Blazier Wilson Hall won the Fan Favorite Award.
In the Northeast State’s Got Talent Contest, The Rust Family took home 1st place for their cover of “Folsom Prison Blues.” Bill Rambo won the 2nd place award for his skateboard shredding. Kelisha Shelton received the 3rd place award for her hula hoop skills.
The Northeast State at Elizabethton campus sponsored a Photography Contest for the best nature photograph. Laura Kappel won the faculty award for best photograph. Mark Fleming won the staff award for best photograph.
