Northeast State hosts CollegeforTN training session

Northeast State hosted the Tennessee Higher Education Commission CollegeforTN counselor training session today at the Blountville campus. Counselors representing high schools from across Northeast Tennessee attended the session designed to acquaint them with the tools the CollegeforTN portal provides to upcoming high school graduates.

Northeast State vice president for Academic Affairs, Lana Hamilton, welcomed the counselors to the event and introduced Western Governors University – TN Chancellor Dr. Kimberly Estep and CollegeforTN Higher Education Coordinator Lisa Davies.

Davis presented the CollegeforTN one-stop online portal that allows high school students to prepare and apply for college and or any post-secondary education pursuit. The portal offers students online career and interest assessments as they explore potential college majors and careers.

CollegeforTN.org offers a guided resume builder, free ACT and SAT test preparation section, and the customization of high school and college planning timelines. The web portal also offers financial aid guides and resources specific to Tennessee.
