Northeast State goes live with eTranscripts

It’s a trifold terror. It’s written in that brutal typewriter font. It is…the printed paper official college transcript. Northeast State Community College opted to give students a shiny new option for sending and receiving transcripts.

The College now offers an electronic transcript application form allowing students to request their official college transcripts be sent electronically to designated recipients.  The new eTranscript application can be accessed now via this link: https://www.northeaststate.edu/transcripts.

Students simply click the Transcript Request Form button and proceed to the application. The three-part application requests a student’s information, whether he or she is currently enrolled at Northeast State, and to designate the recipient of the official electronic transcript.

Official electronic transcripts are sent to students or the designated recipient either by PDF file or ETX (Electronic Transcript Exchange) file. Students and recipients can print, save, or forward the transcript.

Wait, there’s more good news. There is no fee levied for electronic transcripts sent to any partnering school in the state of Tennessee or part of the ETX network. Students can send eTranscripts to institutions outside the network, to employers, or any other party for a fee of $3.50 per transcript request. An additional fee of $1.00 is required for an eTranscript beyond the first in an order.

Students sending an eTranscript to a partnering college or university, are asked to please select the “YES” option on the application to affirm that they are currently enrolled at Northeast State to have the fee waived.

The College partnered with the National Student Clearinghouse to offer the electronic transcript option. The move comes as higher education institutions move more and more services online in response to the Coronavirus/COVID-19 outbreak.

An electronic transcript request gets usually get completed within 30 minutes after an application is filed. A mailed paper transcript request normally requires three business days to process after the receipt of the request.

Students can track their eTranscript application status online. Students can also opt to receive text messages when the request is received, the transcript is sent, and when it is opened by the recipient.

Notes to know:

Transcripts will not be released to students who have an outstanding financial obligation with Northeast State. It is the student’s responsibility to clear the hold and notify the Admissions and Records Office once the hold has been released.

Students who wish to include their current semester grades or conferred degree included on this transcript, please select the “Hold for Grades” or “Hold for Degree” option during the ordering process.

If students need to include the “CAS” transcript ID such as PHARMCAS, CASPA, or NursingCAS, please choose Educational Organization (other than a school) as the recipient option. The electronic application will prompt the user to choose a “CAS” option and to enter the “CAS” transcript ID.

Students who have attended Northeast State within the last year can access their MyNortheast account to print an unofficial copy of their college transcript.
