New members join Alpha Iota Chi chapter

Northeast State welcomed a new group of members to its Alpha Iota Chi chapter of the Phi Theta Kappa International Honor Society. The new members were inducted into the honor society for community college students during a virtual induction ceremony held March 29.

The chapter’s newest inductees recognized were: Adela Adu Agyemang; Christopher Alexander: Heidi Allen; Seanna Bailey; Gabriel Blessing; Elizabeth Blevins; Haley Box; Beverly Byers; Lacie Cable; Justin Christian; McKenzie Dawson; Claudia De La Torre; Greg Diffenderfer; Rachel Evans; April Godsey; Montana Grimes; Brandi Harshman; Briana Helton; Angela Hubbard; Mackenly Jones; Marissa Jones-Bowman; Susan Lafever; Brandon Linkous; Ann Marie Mahaley; Christopher Mahi; Terry McAninch; Kimberly Miller; Rachel Moody; Sybrina Moore; Bryan Mullins; Ana Nunez; Allison Owens; Ashlyn Peace; Jason Powers; Elizabeth Rankin; Jamie Rich; Regina Richardson; Courtney Sanders; Alise Schaefer; Sarah Simmons; Adela Smith; Nichole Taylor; Mikayla Tipton; Cheyenne Weems; Cannon Whetsel; Spencer Wilson; and Hallie Wright.

To qualify for membership to Phi Theta Kappa, a student must be enrolled full-time in an associate degree program, have completed at least 12 hours of college-level coursework, and have a minimum 3.5 grade point average. A college’s Phi Theta Kappa chapter extends membership invitations to all students meeting these criteria.

Alpha Iota Chi has achieved five-star status, the highest level of participation in Phi Theta Kappa activities. Phi Theta Kappa ranks as the largest honor society in American higher education with more than 1.3 million members and 1,200 chapters. Society chapters exist in all 50 states, U.S. territories, Canada, and Germany.
