Workforce Solutions of Northeast State offers an online beginner’s level class in American Sign Language (ASL) starting in September. The course is open to anyone interested in learning ASL.
The class is scheduled Wednesday evenings from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Classes meet via the ZOOM online format from September 15 through November 3. Classes will be conducted via the ZOOM virtual classroom. Upon registering, participating students will be sent the ZOOM access link. Course fee is $80.00.
The class helps students build their sign language vocabulary and learn grammatical structure. Expressive and receptive skills in the language will also be developed. At the completion of the course, participants should be able to communicate with the deaf on a basic level.
