Northeast State announces the newest campus alert app, Rave Guardian is now available for students, faculty, staff, and campus visitors.
Rave Guardian allows users to chat with the Northeast State Campus Police, report suspicious activity, gain access to important resources specific to campus locations, communicate directly with the Northeast State Police Department as well as 9-1-1 through the app, and provide virtual escorts via safety timers. This service is provided free of charge by Northeast State.
The app features a virtual escort option allowing the end user to notify an official guardian, Northeast State Police, or personal contact and thereby creating a subtle overwatch for the user’s security. The escort safety timer notifies the guardian or personal contact the user is traveling to a destination. If the user turns off the timer before time expires, no alert is sent to Guardian or the designated contact(s). If the timer expires, the selected guardian will be notified to check on the user.
The time gives the guardian or contact a notification that a Rave Guardian user initiated the time to ensure they reach their destination.
Students and staff download Rave Guardian from their favorite app store. Users can also register for Guardian and transform their mobile devices into personal alarm beacons. In the event of an emergency, critical information a user opts to share in the app will be provided to Northeast State to help them more quickly respond and help.
Rave does not charge subscribers to send or receive SMS messages. Standard or other messaging charges apply depending upon your wireless carrier plan and subscription details. Once registered, a user may opt out of SMS messages at any time by texting STOP to 226787.
