Northeast State celebrated the newest graduates of the Nursing program at fall pinning ceremony held at the Kingsport Center for Higher Education on Dec. 9.
The graduating class of 27 students received their nursing pins. Fall 2021 graduates are: Kimberly Atchison; Nikki Beachley; Jennifer Byrd; James Close; Brooke Graham; Grant Green; Rachel Grindstaff; April Mauk Hartsock; Elizabeth Howe; Olivia Hughes; Brianna Hutchinson; Cassandra Miller; Jessica Nickels; Amanda O’Bannon; Timothy Orton; Basma Osman; Haleigh Owens; Michele Parlier; Nicole Penley; Carson Phillips; Skylar Roberts; Brandon Smith; Ashley Stacy; Jemma Williams Baker; Whitney Williams; Benjamin Wingerter; and Allison Winfield.
Jemma Baker received the Outstanding Student of the Year Award. The Adult Learner of the Year Award went to Benjamin Wingerter. Brianna Hutchinson earned the Program Support Award.
The pinning ceremony provides a symbolic welcoming of new nurses into the profession. Each graduating student received the Northeast Nursing pin on his or her white lab coat signifying completion of the associate of applied science degree.
