Northeast State’s Workforce Solutions presents a 14-week Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) course beginning January 25.
Course meetings convene on-ground at the Regional Center for Health Professions on the Northeast State at Kingsport campus. The course requires students to take part in clinical laboratory settings.
When: Tuesdays, January 25 – April 26
Where: Regional Center for Health Professions / Kingsport campus, 300 W. Main St.
Course Hours: 6:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m.
Fee: $995 (includes the National Healthcareer Association Certification Exam)
Medical assistants complete administrative and clinical tasks in the offices of physicians, hospitals, and other healthcare facilities. A CCMA’s duties vary with the location, specialty, and size of the practice. Course topics include patient care; communication; office administration; medical law and ethics; phlebotomy; and EKG monitoring.
Individuals interested in starting a career in the medical field, prospective patient care technicians, or those looking to develop skills can benefit from the CCMA course. This program will enable you to become a crucial member of a medical team with skills necessary in a variety of medical settings.
Students who complete the course gain technical knowledge required for success when taking the National Healthcareer Association (NHA) certification examination. The exam is included in the course fee.
Attendance to all classes and clinical assignments is mandatory. Class schedule may be adjusted due to unforeseen causes, such as inclement weather.
