Who is eligible to receive these funds?
You are eligible to apply for funding if you received communication about the funding the week of January 5, 2022
How will we know if we were approved or not?
Individuals approved for funding will be notified by the College once the funds are dispersed. Students must be registered for the Spring 2022 semester to receive the funding. If you are not registered yet, visit a Northeast State campus from 8 AM – 4:30 PM from Wednesday, January 12, through Friday, January 14, to register. Classes begin Tuesday, January 18.
Do I have to pay back the funds?
No, you are not required to pay back the funds. You will not receive a check. Instead, the funds will be applied directly to your student account balance.
The money applied to your account will not be more than what you owe. If your award at any time exceeds what you owe, you will not receive a check. Instead, the funds will be automatically returned to the institution. For example, if you drop classes or withdraw from the College, any excess funds will be automatically returned to the institution.
Am I eligible for funding even if I am receiving financial aid or other scholarship monies?
Yes. You can apply for funding if you received communication about the funding the week of January 5, 2022. The money applied will not be more than what you owe. If your award at any time exceeds what you owe, you will not receive a check. The funds will be automatically returned to the institution.
