Northeast State Community College and East Tennessee State University today signed an agreement to facilitate the transfer into ETSU’s Digital Media program of study.
ETSU President Brian Noland and Northeast State President Jeff McCord signed the agreement at a ceremony on July 7 at the Digital Media Center on the ETSU campus. Also signing were Dr. Connie Marshall, vice president for Academic Affairs at Northeast State, and Dr. Kimberly McCorkle, ETSU provost.
The B.S. degree, part of ETSU’s College of Business and Technology, seeks to bridge the arts and sciences by providing students with technical knowledge and an understanding of aesthetics to create digital media professionals capable of working at the highest artistic and technical levels.
The Digital Media Department offers Digital Animation, Digital Game Design, Digital Visualization, and Digital Visual Effects concentrations.

“The partnership we finalized today provides opportunities for students in the area of digital media studies. It begins with dual enrollment to take classes and Northeast State, and then all of those courses and all of those credits will transfer seamlessly to the university,” said ETSU President Brian Noland. “We’re preparing students for cutting-edge jobs in a cutting-edge business and industry, and we’re doing it in partnership with our sister institution Northeast State.
Northeast State students earning an associate of science in University Parallel: Digital Media are guaranteed admission to ETSU. Eligible students may apply up to 60 transferable semester hours from Northeast State toward the minimum of 124 required for a Digital Media bachelor of science degree at ETSU.
Also, program-specific digital media courses at ETSU will be completed at a 50 percent reduction of current credit hour fees.
