Northeast State’s annual Spring Career Fair will offer job seekers the opportunity to network with employers and staffing agencies from across the region on Thursday, March 28 from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. on the Blountville campus.
The free and public event will feature 70 employers and 175 company representatives.
“We expect many employers who will have immediate openings,” said Marquita Tittle, Director of Career Services at Northeast State. “So many Baby Boomers are approaching retirement and companies have a great need to fill those openings. Leadership skills are particularly needed.”
The free and public event will feature 70 employers and 175 company representatives.
Employers attending the career fair will represent an excellent cross-section of companies from around the region. Industry and business sectors including manufacturing, healthcare, financial, information technology, insurance, education, retail, hospitality, and food service will be in attendance. Also, representatives from staffing agencies—many who work with large companies–will be on hand with information.
Tittle advises job seekers to bring resumes, dress appropriately, and talk with a variety of employers.
“The job market is favorable right now. The Bureau of Labor Statistics recently reported there are more jobs than people to fill them. That’s something that hasn’t happened before,” Tittle said. “This year’s fair offers great potential for both applicants and employers.”
The fair will be held in the Wellmont Regional Center for the Performing Arts which is located on the College’s Blountville campus, 2425 Highway 75, adjacent to the Tri-Cities Regional Airport.
