“Animal Farm” earns award nominations, faculty awards

Northeast State Theatre’s recent production of Animal Farm earned students and award nominations by proctors from Region IV of the Kennedy Center American College Theatre Festival (KCACTF). The regional competition recognizes the best theatre work of two- and four-year colleges across the Southeast.

Students Gavin Strawn and Jordan David received Irene Ryan Award nominations for acting. Students receiving Design, Technology, and Management program award nominations were Rebecca Hopson for Stage Management; Jonathan Proctor for Sound Design; Olivia Skeens for Costume Design; and Kenzie Sawtelle for Mask Design.

Faculty awards were presented to Elizabeth M. Sloan for Directing, Brad McKenzie for Lighting Design, and Richard Curtis for Scenic Design.

The student nominees will compete at the KCACTF Region IV competition scheduled for 2020.
