The state of Tennessee will allow 2020 high school graduates (including home school and GED/HiSET recipients) to maintain initial enrollment eligibility for TN Promise in the Fall 2021 semester.
The eligibility extends to 2020 high school graduates who applied for Tennessee Promise by the November 1, 2019 deadline and filed the FAFSA by the February 7, 2020 deadline, but ultimately did not attend any institution of higher education in the 2020-2021 academic year.
Here are eligibility requirements:
- Students must have submitted the Tennessee Promise application by the November 1, 2019 deadline;
- Filed the FAFSA by the February 7, 2020 deadline;
- Did not enroll in any postsecondary institution during the 2020-21 academic year;
- Filed the 2021-22 FAFSA by July 1, 2021.
Students meeting these conditions will be allowed to enroll in the Fall 2021 semester without submitting an appeal or providing additional documentation or justification for failure to timely enroll at an eligible postsecondary institution or for failing to attend any mandatory informational meeting offered by a Tennessee Promise Partnering Organization.
