The Northeast State International Education Program sponsors several interesting events available this fall including a trip to Washington, D.C., and recruitment for students to study abroad in 2022.
Ongoing and upcoming fall events include:
Genocide Awareness Project, Basler Library, Second Floor
The Genocide Awareness Project he worldwide incidents of genocide since World War II. The display also provides information about recognizing and ending these atrocities. The exhibit is open to the public and will be in the library through Friday, Oct. 8.
Spotlight Denmark: Kubb & Danish Candy / Oct. 6, 1:30 p.m. – 3:30 p.m.
Johnson City campus (outside weather permitting; inside otherwise)
Join International Education for Kubb, a Scandinavian yard game also known as Viking chess, & some Danish candy. This round, we’ll be at the JC grassy area (weather permitting). Watch for signage that day!
Study Abroad Recruitment Begins for Summer 2022! / Oct. 7, 3:00 – 4:00 p.m.

Interested in study abroad? You earn college credit while traveling! Attend this live Zoom info session to learn more about opportunities, scholarships, & the registration process for Northeast State students.
Travel to Washington, D.C., with International Education on Nov. 5-7
Students are invited to join International Education for a weekend trip to Washington, D.C., on Nov. 5-7! The trip will cost $30 plus food. The trip has 75 seats available on a first-come, first-served basis based on completed registration & fee payment. The registration deadline is 3 p.m., Thursday, Oct. 14.
Possible activities include U.S. Holocaust Memorial Museum, National Museum of the American Indian, National Museum of African Art, Sackler Museum (Asian Culture), National Zoo, & more. Travelers will also have some free time to explore on their own.
To find out more & to register, follow these steps:
1. Log into D2L, click on the “Student Organizations and Resources” link at the top
2. Select the International Education Program to enroll
3. Once enrolled, look for instructions, forms, and submission folder in Announcements.
