Northeast State welcomed a new class of members to the Alpha Iota Chi chapter of the Phi Theta Kappa International Honor Society. The new members joined the chapter this fall semester after meeting the qualifications for membership.

To qualify for membership to Phi Theta Kappa, a student must be enrolled full-time in an associate degree program, have completed at least 12 hours of college-level coursework, and have a minimum 3.5 grade point average. A college’s Phi Theta Kappa chapter extends membership invitations to all students meeting these criteria.
The regional and national award-winning Alpha Iota Chi chapter earned numerous awards including Five-Star status, the highest level of participation in Phi Theta Kappa activities. Phi Theta Kappa ranks as the largest honor society in American higher education with more than 1.3 million members and 1,200 chapters. Society chapters exist in all 50 states, U.S. territories, Canada, and Germany.
