Northeast State hosts Campus Safety Week September 8-12

The college’s Campus Police Department features a series of events designed to educate and empower students, faculty, and staff. This week features feature seminars and demonstrations led by local, state, and federal law enforcement professionals.

Northeast State Community College spotlights during Campus Safety Week scheduled for September 8 through September 12.

The college’s Campus Police Department features a series of events designed to educate and empower students, faculty, and staff. This week features seminars and demonstrations led by local, state, and federal law enforcement professionals.

The Tennessee Highway Patrol presents a safe driving assessment test on September 8 at 12 noon. Students test their driving skills while wearing the infamous “beer googles” used to distort their perception while driving a golf cart. The driving assessment takes place in the outdoor quad area of the Blountville campus. All events are free and open to the Northeast State community.

Monday, September 8:

9:00 a.m. Financial Crime by the FBI in the Student Services Building Auditorium (A202)

12:00 p.m. Safe Driving by Tennessee Highway Patrol at the Outdoor Quad

Tuesday, September 9

9:00 a.m. Suicide Prevention Training by TSPN, SCAD, MHAET @ Performing Arts Theater

1:00 p.m. Cybercrime by TBI at the Wade Powers Math and Science Building (B207)

1:00 p.m. “Behind the Badge” Coffee Hour at The Bear Café

Wednesday, September 10

9:00 a.m. Local Drug Trends by Washington County Sheriff’s Office at the Student Services Auditorium (A202)

1:00 p.m. K-9 Demonstration by Kingsport Police Department in the outdoor quad

Thursday, September 11

9:00 a.m.: Domestic Violence Training by Northeast State Counseling Services in the BHCPA Theater

9:45 a.m. September 11 Remembrance Day event

1:00 p.m. “Behind the Badge” Get to know the people behind the badges at Coffee Hour in the Bear Café in the Student Services Building

Friday, September 12

9:00 a.m. Active Shooter Training by Northeast State Police, Auditorium (A202) in the Student Services Building

1:00 p.m. Bomb Squad Demo by Johnson City Police Department in the outdoor quad
