Northeast State Community College, Bristol Rhythm and Roots Reunion, and The Sessions Hotel in downtown Bristol invite you to a morning mind reset with a soundtrack during the Bristol Rhythm and Roots Festival in September.
The Music and Meditation event invites Rhythm and Roots Festival attendees and the general community to renew their bodies and minds with a special relaxation class held at The Sessions Hotel in downtown Bristol on Sept. 12, from 8:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.
Yoga instructor Christiane Popperwell guides participants through an immersive flow of mind and body work to focus on their positive energy and relieve stressful influences. A live soundscape of sublime melodies comes from the cello of renowned musician, Dave Eggar, the 9-time Grammy nominee. Participants partake in the distinguished vibrations of a world-renowned musician as they move, breathe, stretch, and restore.
Where: The Sessions Hotel, 833 State Street, Bristol, VA / Lauderdale Stage Lawn
When: Saturday, Sept. 12, 8:30 a.m. – 11:00 a.m.

Course fee: $15, and participants are requested to bring yoga mats. *Participants will need to purchase a festival ticket to enter Rhythm & Roots. Attending this course will NOT permit entry to the festival.
This experience includes a 60-minute Restore class followed by a 20-minute guided space meditation, all set to the soulful, soothing tones of the cello. Participants partake in movements designed to calm the mind, relax the body, and nourish the soul. As you settle into stillness, the rich resonance of Dave’s cello will envelop you, ground you, and deepen your connection to your inner self.
